Projects

Due to limitations of funds at present we are concentrating on our projects only in the State of Tamil Nadu, Kancheepuram district. We are trying our best to extend our projects through out our country, once we have enough sources at our end.

We are working on the two kinds of projects:
  a. On going projects.
b. Proposed projects.

a. On going Projects:

  1. Social Housing Programme:

This project was introduced in the year 2000. Mostly very active in the district of Kancheepuram. Age old huts are replaced with good concrete houses, for better inhabitation. Social aspect and direct participation of the beneficiary is very much stressed in this project.

  2.
Educational projects:

i)
Educational Sponsorship Programme:
This programme is mainly aimed at female children. The poor but very good children are identified at different villages and selected for this Educational Sponsorship Programme. These poor children are completely sponsored until they complete their education at any higher level.

ii)
Educational Matching grant:
This programme is envisaged mainly to reduce the burden of poor parents, to create awareness in the minds of the poor children, for the habit of savings and to give self confidence to study and live on their own. Matching grant is given as equal to their savings.

iii)
Educational Career guidance and Support:
In general, rural children are very ignorant about the educational systems, courses offered, choice of subjects and groups, etc. Every year we conduct the educational career guidance camp to 10th and 12th completed students to choose what is better and apt for their life.

Also, we support financially for the part payment of fees for all the poor children form Nursary school to post graduation.

  3. Rural Employment Bureau :

We try to locate different options for the employment of rural youth. We not only educate them but also guide and assist them until they are employed. We have placed many youngsters in IT companies, Hotels and Resorts, Export units, Auto mobiles, Retail shops, etc.

  4. Rural self-help projects :

People who like to venture into small scale projects of their own, they are encouraged and financial support is very much assisted to their projects. Brick-Kiln, tyre-cart, ploughing bulls, milch animals, duckry, fish-pond, agriculture tractors, tillers, grocery shop, petty shops, driving license, etc. are among the few projects;

  5. Rural infra-structure projects :

CRANE focus very much on rural development and Rural rehabilitation. Hence, lot of rural infra structure activities are undertaken in its target area, like: formation of cement roads, drainage, culverts, street lights, drinking water, road side parks, rural library, etc.

  6. Tsunami Rehabilitation Project :

Tsunami Rehabilitation programme was started from the time the Tsunami hit the coastal people in the year 2004. The event of Tsunami shocked and shaked the lives of everyone in the coastal area. Even to this day people are very scared to live in the coastal area.

CRANE responded very quickly to the situation and the team visited the affected areas with full of aids. CRANE distributed, clothes, medicines, first aid boxes, rice, mats, vessels, cookery oil, plastic pots, fishing materials etc.

Tsunami Rehabilitation Programme is very active in the following villages of Kancheepuram District.

iii) Children sponsorship programme and
iv) Agro related programme.

CRANE has given rebirth as well as strong will power to the Tsunami affected people.

  7. Vacational and Awareness Camps:

Every year three camps are conducted during the vacation of the schools. Children come from different villages to attend these camps. These camps are conducted to enhance the capacity of the poor rural children and to coach them intensively of their school subjects.

Apart from general studies, they are also given opportunity to learn different languages like: Hindi, Spoken English, French etc. Also, computer application is very much stressed. Simultaneously awareness education is given to the children for their self growth.

  b. Proposed Projects:
At the near future the following projects have been proposed at different villages:

01. Co- operative Milk - Diary Farm
02. Home for the Aged

The above said projects have been proposed with a definite reason and their urgent need. We found these projects are inevitable, if we are really committed to serve the poor and marginalized.
